October 3, 2026 Event – Kissimmee, FL
October 10, 2026 Event – Chicago, IL
October 17, 2026 Event – El Segundo, CA
5.1.1 Classic UNO rules will be provided by the Mattel staff and representatives at each Event. Mattel staff and representatives are the judges at all the Events. Judges decisions are final and binding, and non-negotiable. Contest Entities are not responsible for lost, incomplete registration, or undelivered, delayed, or misdirected emails due to full inboxes, spam filters, or security protocols. Furthermore, Contest Entities are not responsible for any third party’s failure to act in accordance with Sponsor’s instructions pertaining to Tournament implementation at any of the Events.
5.1.2 Multiple Registrants are not permitted to enter using the same email address. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a registrant, such registration will be disqualified at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. The Sponsor is under no obligation to disclose the reason for disqualification beyond stating that the registration was deemed ineligible under these Official Rules.
5.2 Entry method via UNO! Mobile App
Visit www.letsplayuno.com to download the free UNO! Mobile App (“App” or “Mobile Game”), or through the App Store, Google Play, Samsung Galaxy Store and Amazon Appstore. You must have a compatible mobile device with the App and have access to a reliable internet connection. Follow the instructions in the App including signing in to the game center as a player, or register as a new player if you have not done so.
5.2.1 To participate, login to the App and select 2026 UNO CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES to start playing (each such player is defined as “active player”). Players may login and play at any time during the weekly entry periods. The App will randomly match each active player with three (3) other active players to form a group of four (4). Multiple groups may be active at the same time, and players may or may not be matched with the same opponents in subsequent games. Each game has a maximum duration of 3-minutes. If one or more players do not complete their hands within the time limit, the match will time out, and rankings will be determined based on players’ hand scores. Players may pause the game play at any time, and their progress will be saved automatically only during the Qualifications Tournament. All players may receive digital giveaways, including in-game coins, limited card packs, or other virtual items. All digital items are non-transferable, non-redeemable, and have no cash or monetary value.
5.2.2 To be eligible to participate in Round 1, a player must have achieved a minimum of 60 in-game trophies (which may be unlocked after completing approximately 6 matches) within the UNO! Mobile App. In addition, to advance from Rounds 1 through 4, players must earn a minimum threshold score (i.e., target score). If a player does not meet the target score:
Players are limited to a maximum of twenty (20) additional retry opportunities per weekly entry period in the App.
5.2.3 How the Mobile Game works:
5.2.3.1 Stage 1: The Mobile Game uses a 6-round Qualifier progression system.
i) Qualification Rounds (Rounds 1 – 4): Players advance by meeting cumulative target score thresholds. All scores carry forward between rounds. All active players within the same weekly entry period are matched against one another.
ii) Semi-Final Round (Round 5): This is a knockout match where only the 1st and 2nd top scoring players advance to Round 6.
iii) Qualifier Final Round (Round 6): Four Semi-Final Round players compete in each group. The top scoring player in a group earns an invitation to compete in the Weekly Tournament corresponding to that weekly entry period.
Classic UNO rules with Double Skip and 7 Swap mechanics enabled. Each match lasts 3-minutes total. For the first 2-minutes of play, players receive a 10-seconds card play window per turn; the final 1-minute reduce turn play time to 5-seconds per turn.
Players may elect to save their Qualifier progress after successfully advancing past any round. Saved progress will remain available for a maximum of seven (7) calendar days from the date it is saved.
5.2.3.2 Each weekly entry period scoring process:
All players begin each round (Round 1 – 6) with a starting base score of 400. After each match, players in a group are ranked 1st through 4th based on the number of cards remaining in hand (lowest remaining cards = highest rank). Scores are then adjusted as follows:
1st Place: +300 points (total score: 700)
2nd Place: +100 points (total score: 500)
3rd Place: -100 points (total score: 300)
4th Place: -300 points (total score: 100)
5.2.3.3 Advancement thresholds
To advance, a player’s post-round score must meet or exceed the applicable threshold.
For example: In Round 1, the advancement threshold is 300 points. After a match: 1st, 2nd and 3rd players can move forward to the next round, while the 4th place player is eliminated. This same advancement logic applies to each subsequent round, using the threshold assigned to that round.
5.2.3.4 Stage 2: Each Weekly Tournament and the scoring process
All players start with zero base point. After each match, players are ranked 1 through 4 based on the remaining card(s) in hand (lowest remaining cards = highest rank).
Player rankings are determined using a weighted scoring system.
Match 1: no multiplier
Match 2: 1.2 multiplier
Match 3: 1.5 multiplier
Match 4: 2.0 multiplier
Match 5: 2.2 multiplier
Match 6: 2.5 multiplier
Match 7: 3.0 multiplier
Match 8: 4.0 multiplier
Formula:base points earned x round coefficient = weighted effective points
Later qualifying matches have higher round coefficients, meaning results in later rounds have a greater impact on player rankings than results in earlier rounds.
5.2.3.5 Stage 3: Final Tournament and the scoring process
Identical stage structure, match count scaling, game play settings, and match multiplier scoring rules as outlined in Section 5.2.3.4 (Weekly Tournament rules). No progress save function is available for the Final Tournament.
The Top 4 overall ranked players of the Final Tournament will be eligible to play in-person at the UCS Tournament Finals in Los Angeles, California (players are subject to a background check and verification).
5.2.3.6 Each Round 1 through 6 and each Weekly Tournament allow a maximum participant cap of 2,000 players. Participation is based on first-available, first-served basis. Once the maximum of 2,000 qualified players has been reached for a particular Round or Weekly Tournament, the App will display a message indicating that the tournament has reached full capacity. The number of matches a player needs to play to earn the top qualifying place depends on the number of active players who are participating.
1–64 participants: 3 matches
65–128 participants: 4 matches
129–599 participants: 5 matches
600–799 participants: 6 matches
800–999 participants: 7 matches
1,000–2,000 participants: 8 matches
Ties are broken by faster total match completion time. Random byes (automatic advancement without a match) may be assigned to balance group sizes, with a hard limit of one bye per player across all Qualification Rounds (Rounds 1 – 4).
5.2.3.7 Round 5: Knockout elimination match (only the 1st and 2nd top scoring players qualify for Round 6)
1–7 participants: 1 match
8–15 participants: 2 matches
16–31 participants: 3 matches
32–63 participants: 4 matches
64–2,000 participants: 5 matches
5.2.3.8 Sponsor is not responsible for internet connectivity issues, device incompatibility, software or hardware malfunctions, or other technical failures that may affect participation. If a player loses connection during game play, the ability to rejoin the existing match or retain the player's score or progress will depend on the App's functionality and the nature of the disconnection.
5.2.3.9 If through technical errors, more players are invited to participate than the number of players mentioned in these Official Rules, no more than the actual number of players per the Official Rules will be allowed. Should such a situation occur, these invited players may be determined based on their faster total match completion time to proceed to the next level.
5.2.3.10 Multiple UNO! App accounts used to obtain extra retry opportunities or advance in Qualifiers will result in immediate disqualification of all associated scores. Automated bots, scripts, third-party tools or logging into another participant’s account to compete on their behalf to generate retry opportunities or manipulate matches are prohibited and will void all related participation.
5.3 UNO Championship Series Tournament 2026 Finals
The Finalists (i.e., top scoring players who are qualified to compete at the UCS Tournament Finals: 3 Finalists from the Events and 4 Finalists from the Mobile Game), and up to 41 invitees (e.g., international players, influencers, brand fans, etc.) will compete at the UCS Tournament Finals to win a $50,000 Grand Prize. The top scoring player at the UCS Tournament Finals will be declared the Winner of the $50,000 Grand Prize.
5.3.1 UCS Tournament Finals rules (details and instructions can be found in the UNO Championship Series product and on the Website) will be provided by the Mattel staff and representatives at the UCS Tournament Finals. Mattel staff and its representatives are the judges at all the events. Judges decisions are final and binding, and non-negotiable. The UCS Tournament Finals may be livestreamed, recorded, and/or otherwise broadcast by Sponsor via Twitch and/or other media platforms selected by Sponsor.
6. TRIP: Transportations and Accommodations to the UCS Tournament Finals: All Finalists must be able to travel on November 9 – 12, 2026 to Los Angeles, California. The UCS Tournament Finals will take place on November 11, 2026. Up to seven (7) Finalists will receive the following Trip:
(a) roundtrip, coach class air transportation for each Finalist from a major commercial airport located within the United States near Finalist’s place of primary residence (as selected in Mattel’s sole discretion) to Los Angeles, California. (b) three (3) nights’ hotel accommodations (standard room and room tax only);
(c) $225 spending money.
6.1 Total approximate retail value (ARV) of Trip for each Finalist is estimated at $1,900 each. Actual value may vary depending on location of Finalist and existing rate at time of booking. If the actual value of Trip is lower than the stated ARV when Trip is procured and fulfilled, the difference will not be awarded.
6.2 All Finalists must consent to and provide the required documents for the background check, and including an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity release (collectively “Document”) to Administrator within three (3) days of notification date. If a Finalist’s background check results are deemed unsatisfactory, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion, that Finalist will be disqualified. In such event, the next highest-scoring player from the same pool of participation (“Alternate Finalist”) will be invited to participate in the UCS Tournament Finals. The Alternate Finalist is subject to the same background check and eligibility requirements.
6.3 At the sole discretion of the Administrator or Sponsor, Trip forfeiture and the determination of an Alternate Finalist may result from any of the following: i) a Document or notification is returned as undeliverable; ii) the Document is not returned within the date specified on notification; iii) a Finalist is otherwise found to be ineligible; iv) Finalist cannot travel on dates specified by Sponsor or Administrator; and v) any other non-compliance with these Official Rules.
6.4 Travel arrangements must be made through Sponsor’s agency. If a Finalist is between the ages of 18 and 20, the Finalist must be accompanied by an adult of at least 21 years of age. The Finalist and accompanying adult are responsible for complying with the hotel’s check-in requirements, including providing a valid major credit card to cover incidentals which are not included in the Trip. No other elements or expenses (including, without limitation, insurance, meals, phone calls, baggage, gratuities, incidentals, souvenirs, gasoline, etc.) are included in the Trip and all such expenses are the sole responsibility of each Finalist. Contest Entities and Releasees are not liable for any expenses incurred as a consequence of flight or ground transportation cancellation and delay. Each Finalist is responsible for obtaining, at their own expense, any necessary travel documentation (e.g., valid travel identification such as Real ID, passport, etc.) prior to travel. Trip may not be combined with any other offer and may not qualify for frequent flyer miles. Once issued, flights are non-transferable, non-changeable and non-refundable.
6.5 All Finalists must follow all instructions given by any representative during the Trip and at the UCS Tournament Finals. The representative involved reserves the right to revoke a Finalist participation for failure to follow any instructions given. If a Finalist determines that travel is not possible for health, safety, or any other reason, after the Trip has been booked, or if a Finalist is otherwise unable to participate in the UCS Tournament Finals, that Finalist will forfeit all rights to the Trip and/or participation in the UCS Tournament Finals, and no compensation or substitution will be provided.
